Firelily
Medium: colored pencils and watercolors
This piece was done for 'The Mushroom Peddler's Handbook'. A collaborative story by myself and Sarah Seiter. This tropical variation of the common lily is a rather delicate little darling. She requires bright sunlight and moist soil at all times. Be careful when planting the seeds, they wither and die in temperatures below 25 degrees F.
The great thing about this little lady is that she tends to bloom in the late summer and fall, when most other plants are already withering away and preparing for the winter.
She is also a toku MAGNET, so do plant them if you enjoy those colorful winged visitors.
