Apocalypse: Strife
Medium: Watercolors and Colored pencils
A friend and I were having a conversation about the bible, and the lack of female dieties in it (compared to other religions that often have female counterparts for nearly every male diety). So this was a study on if there were female dieties, what would they be? What role would they play? Personally I felt they would be of the 'mass destruction 'type, and chose to depict the four horsemen of the apocalypse as female dieties.
This particular one was Strife. Many people say "But the fourth horseman was Pestilence". However when you read the actual passages in the bible... pestilence isn't actually listed as one. The fourth is a white king, and many scholars have suggested that the king represents strife, as in the conflict before war, then famine, then death. It made sense to me in a timeline sort of way, so I opted to illustrate strife instead.
