This piece is the second in a series of pieces I was challenged to do after a long religious debate with some friends, speculating on what deities/powers in the biblical based religions might possibly be female. And what *my* take on them would be. I chose to do the four horsemen of the apocalypse, obviously loosing the horses entirely and reverting ' pestilence' back to 'strife' (or the king of kings) for a variety of reasons. This isn't intended as an insult to any religions based on the bible, it's just... speculation among friends.
My dear friend Angela, an amazing artist in her own right, was kind enough to pose for this piece for me. My friend Sam who is another incredible artist, was kind enough to redline my errors when I was about to scrap this piece out of frustration. Where would we be, without our friends?
The majority of this piece was done with watercolors, while her skin and the scythe were done in colored pencils. I tend to skip around in watercolor brands, but the pencils are always Prismacolor.
The original has gone to a good home.
The printrun is limited edition, so you will need to contact me to see if it has sold out or not.
